About Festival
Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) is one of Indonesia’s leading film industry events held on its most famous island of Bali and attended by local and foreign filmmakers and industry professionals along with a diverse and enthusiastic audience.
Film from all genres of fiction or documentary, feature-length and shorts from Indonesia and around the world are accepted for consideration. The festival has a juried competition with awards presented in several artistic and technical categories.
We are dedicated to supporting Indonesian filmmakers by showcasing films locally produced as a means of illustrating the country’s capabilities and potential. Submission fees are waived for Indonesian nationals (WNI).
Balinale invites international filmmakers to explore Indonesia for potential co-production opportunities that have proven results in delivering cultural, educational, and economic benefits to the country.
We’re proud to have the endorsement of the National and Provincial Governments for our festival.
