Bali International Film Festival (also known as BALINALE) stages another memorable event with over 50 thought-provoking and award-winning films. Recognized internationally for the quality and diversity of its programming, BALINALE features all genres of independent, fiction, documentary, short and feature length films in the line-up.

Educational Programs are an important part of the festival. In a lead up to the festival, BALINALE 2014 proudly partners with American Film Showcase (AFS) series of documentary filmmakers and the prestigious Sundance Institute Film Forward international touring program with Film Editor Doug Blush here discussing the Oscar Winner Twenty Feet From Stardom.
Jack Neo, Singapore’s highest grossing feature filmmaker and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, will present his latest hit comedy The Lion Men: Ultimate Showdown.
The festival’s ‘Focus on Women’ acknowledges the enormous and creative contribution women make in all aspects of the industry. Sharing their unique perspective are Keynote Speakers; Jill Gwen Braginets, Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations for Fox Searchlight Pictures, (12 Years a Slave, Slumdog Millionaire and Black Swan) and Donna Smith as the first woman in history to head-up Physical Production for a major studio, Universal Pictures, (Raging Bull, Terminator and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon). Donna is US Ambassador of Film to China.
Now in its eighth year, the festival provides an important platform for Indonesian films while showcasing the country’s rich culture, diverse locations, talented film industry and unique story ideas to foreign filmmakers.
