The Bali International Film Festival (Balinale), Indonesia’s premier platform for international and independent cinema, proudly announces its 18th edition, taking place from 1–7 June 2025 in Sanur, Bali. The festival’s new official venue is Icon Bali Mall, Bali’s only beachfront retail and entertainment village, now established as the official stage for this world-renowned cultural event.

As the first and only Oscar® Qualifying Film Festival in Indonesia, Balinale continues to evolve as a global platform for creativity, bridging local and international filmmakers through cinema, arts, and education. The move to Sanur celebrates its vibrant cultural identity, transforming the coastal town into a creative hub for discovery, dialogue, and inspiration.

“Balinale shines a global spotlight on Sanur, setting the stage for meaningful opportunities and international recognition,” said Deborah Gabinetti, Founder and Festival Director. “We are thrilled to partner with Icon Bali Mall, Cinema XXI, and The Meru Sanur in creating a world-class environment where film, culture, and community meet.”
