Bali International Film Festival, also known as Balinale, annually takes place on the inspirational island of Bali, Indonesia. We curate and showcase an exceptional selection of independent local and international movies, often featuring the filmmakers themselves in attendance.

We actively invite film submissions from all genres, including fiction and documentary, encompassing feature-length and short films, both from Indonesia and around the world. These submissions undergo careful consideration for inclusion in our hybrid festival, which seamlessly integrates regulated in-person events, digital programming, and captivating outdoor screenings.

The festival maintains a juried competition that acknowledges excellence across various artistic and technical categories within Narrative Features, Documentaries, and Short Films. In our unwavering dedication to support local filmmakers, we eagerly waive submission fees for Indonesian Nationals (WNI), offering them a unique opportunity to present their films to an international audience while fostering connections with filmmakers from around the world.
