At Bali International Film Festival (Balinale), we strongly favor theatrical screening from a technical projection perspective, as well as a shared experience perspective. There is nothing compared to seeing the images up on the big screen to do justice to the thousands of hours of craftsmanship involved in their creation.
However, the festival's first priority will always be the health and well-being of our audience members and staff. Therefore, we are incredibly excited to restart Balinale as a combination of online and regulated in-person events designed to welcome you back to Bali and into the cinemas for its 14th edition 16-19 September.
The Balinale team hopes that our friends in the film and television industry and the entire community remain healthy and safe. Let's continue to support each other as best we can.
We look forward to seeing you at the movies!
The Festival’s pre-event and main program will be announced soon.
Balinale 2021 Festival Poster, designed by Yassmina Laabad
The new Balinale poster design celebrates Bali as home to a rich history of artist expression and Balinale as a gathering of creativity.
Through its palette of vibrant colors and design, you experience a feeling of enthusiasm and inspiration through the stories shared during the Festival program … and long into the future.
Yellow represents the warmth of the Bali sun, green for the islands’ natural balance, purple suggests the magic we experience through film, while white represents transformation and clarity.
Yassmina’s contemporary and intuitive approach to design work has led her from Morocco, France, UK and now Bali.
We’re delighted to celebrate art and film, together again on the island of Bali this September.
