Director’s Profile

Banu Wirandoko & Rheza Arden Wiguna

With an educational background in Fine Arts, Banu and Rheza have developed a refined taste for visual arts. Both have been exploring audiovisual design techniques together since 2012 and fell in love with film and video as means of storytelling. Combining Rheza’s whimsical visual explorations with Banu’s astute musical sensibilities, made them stand out among other storytellers in their generation.

Once upon a time they stumbled upon news that Garuda Wisnu Kencana were resuming construction in 2013, as they dreamt to be the ones who documents history. Not long after, Nyoman Nuarta created a video competition about Garuda Wisnu Kencana to raise awareness about the project. They submitted at the last minute and won the whole thing. That started a relationship between two young filmmakers with a sculpture maestro that would later on made it possible for the two of them to realize their college daydream into reality.

In 2015 Banu and Rheza founded Seeds Motion, an audiovisual design studio, focusing on motion picture storytelling using various techniques that would carry on tackling a passion project documenting a part of Indonesia’s modern history which is the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue and the sculptor’s journey.
