Quentin Dupieux

Quentin DUPIEUX (1974, France) is a filmmaker and musician. In his musical career he is known under the pseudonym Mr. Oizo. Although his filmmaking and musical career ran parallel, he first gained attention following the release of his track ‘Flat Beat’, which became a hit throughout Europe in 1999. Dupieux is considered a true auteur, being the writer, editor and director of photography for all his films. He even (co-)composed the music for half of his films. Many of them had their world premieres at major festivals like Cannes, Venice and Sundance. Dupieux’ films are often unique, skewing away from narrative conventions, with a great taste for the absurd and a dark sense of humour. His Incredible But True (2022) premiered at Berlinale and Smoking Causes Coughing (2022) in Cannes.
