Film Scoring Workshop by Dr Edward Bilous

A comprehensive film scoring workshop and masterclass led by Dr. Edward Bilous, focusing on enhancing the skills of Indonesian student composers and filmmakers in music composition and film scoring. Topics will include core concepts and terminology, methods to effectively communicate ideas and foster creative exploration, new production technologies including AI, and practices used to develop and produce successful works. Participants will work in filmmaker-composer collaborative teams to produce a short film with original music.
Dr. Edward Bilous, is a composer, interdisciplinary artist, artistic director, educator, and the Founding Director of the Center for Innovation in the Arts at The Juilliard School. The program will be developed by the Bali Film Center in collaboration with Virtua Creative, an interdisciplinary arts and arts education production entity created by Dr. Bilous.
Balinale is in its third year partnering with Dr. Bilous and The Juilliard School’s Center for Innovation in the Arts, on ‘Art of the Score’, a collaborative program between Juilliard student musicians and composers in creating original music for visual media from Indonesian student filmmakers and students from around the world.
