BALINALE 2011 will host a special ASEAN Film Focus that aims to promote production in the region and expose the talented individuals behind the local film industry.
Included in the festival program will be a workshop conducted by Gabrielle Kelly, Associate Arts Professor at NYU Tisch School of the Arts - Asia. Ms Kelly produced an omnibus of narrative shorts from ASEAN country filmmakers.
Indonesia assumed the ASEAN 2011 Chairmanship with the theme ASEAN Community in a Global Community of Nations. Visiting ASEAN Delegates and Heads of States from the 10 ASEAN member states include; Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
